I am delighted to welcome my dear friend, Denise Wolf, to share with us today. Denise is not only a devoted follower of Jesus, she is a nutritionist, speaker, and founder of The Whole Affect, an ezine focused on physical, spiritual, and emotional wellbeing. She has more energy than five of me on my best day, and is filled with wisdom and insight that we all need to hear. Please welcome Denise!

You are perfect in design.

You were designed in the image of God, Himself.

You are full of mystery; you were designed so that 95% of your brain function is unconscious. Yes, truly you are conscious and in control of only 5% of what’s happening in your brain!

Yes, God designed you to appreciate and have faith in things you cannot control or may even completely understand, just by walking around in your human body!

Did you also know some of these other amazing and random human facts?

·     Every day an adult body produces 300 billion new cells, and 300 million die

·     You have a unique fingerprint as well as a tongue print

·     Hugging releases oxytocin, which helps to heal physical wounds, and makes someone trust you more.

·     Nerve impulses to and from the brain travel as fast as 170 miles per hour

·     The Human brain is the most powerful computer which has the processing speed of 3000+ Ghz

·     Loneliness is physically painful.

·     Sixty percent of the human body nerve ends in the forehead and the hands.

·     Your heart beats 100,000 times a day.

·     Humans are the only animals to produce emotional tears.

·     Banging your head against a wall uses 150 calories an hour.(I’m not advising this ;-)

·     The tongue is the strongest muscle in the human body.

·     One person in 20 has an extra rib, and they are most often men

·     When we touch something, we send a message to our brain at 124 mph.

You are complex yet simple. A beauty to behold. CLICK TO TWEET We are designed to innately understand that we don’t have to see our body at work to believe it does AND we don’t have to completely understand our brain to know that it functions without us telling it what to do.

Ahhh, the mysteries of God.

We live in a time where discovery in science and knowledge are racing at the speed of light. This is an age where science and the Bible are truly finding common ground. One such milestone is that science, especially neuroscience has agreed that we as human beings are tripart. Yes, this is truly a great point of unity for modern science, medicine and theology.  We were made in three parts; spirit, soul and body.

The spirit, soul (which most believe to be the seat of the mind, will and emotions,) and the body are now all believed to be connected in our humanness. But how were they designed to work together? Here’s an idea.

We are reconciled to the Father when we become a Christian. All the curses of the fall of man brought on by sin have been redeemed. You can live like you were originally designed. Your spirit is renewed and the Holy Spirit lives inside of your being. The Holy Spirit actually has a beautiful job as the communicator from God to your spirit. A part of His role is to teach you and me how to be more like Jesus. We are encouraged to walk in the Spirit, be transformed by the renewing of our mind, take every thought captive as unto Christ, be saturated in the Fathers love. All these biblical exhortations are techniques that the Holy Spirit implements, with our agreement for transformation.

So, a tiny review;

Our spirit is renewed by our belief in Jesus as our personal Savior. The Holy Spirit lives in us and by His prompting we are being renewed in mind, will and emotion- otherwise known as the soul. Our inner man- the soul, is strengthening us to be more like Jesus. This is the transformation process- but what about the body?

Our body, the physical being that has outward characteristics that uniquely set us apart from others- has not been forgotten by God in the transformation process. Our body is completely willing to be submitted to the Holy Spirit.

I know… hard to believe for some…your body and mine, by original design …has been created to be Spirit-led!

The grace of God’s plan is that we first submit our spirit to Christ and our soul to the transformation process. Yes, I’m not kidding.  Do you know how I know this? Because it is now scientifically proven that what your mind tells your body…your body believes.

You may relate to this concept when you think about childbirth. Now for those who have experienced this pain it is super intense. However, we implement breathing techniques, physical positions and coaching that redirect the mind and emotions. This very set of practiced techniques do not necessarily relieve all the pain, but they override the will and focus the emotions on a goal. The goal being… the birth of a child.

The process of childbirth is an amazing work of the body being submitted to the 95% unconscious forces of the physical system at work. We can work in unity to submit our mind, will and emotions and agree with this as Gods plan. To be perfectly honest after bearing two children, the body takes over and you don’t have much to say about it, right girls? So, this is an example of how God designed all three of our humanness to cooperate in unity.

So, what if we approach all things related to our body and health in the attitude of original design. God designed us to be made in His image, our goal is to partner with the Holy Spirit to restore and redeem our whole being to bear the image of Christ. Its really not complicated but it does take a submission of the mind, will and emotions to the Holy Spirit.

So here are my top secrets to whole living and healthy physical transformation. These are easy concepts just to get you started partnering with the Holy Spirit!

· Submit everything to prayer

Pray before you eat, pray about what you eat, pray before you exercise, pray for your infirmities, pray for your physical needs ie: sleep, hormone balance, freedom from stress!  PRAY for everything.

· Ask God to remind you of how much He loves you!

He will remind you that you are special, He created you for a unique purpose, He sees you as His Beloved. You, my friend, are perfectly and wonderfully made! CLICK TO TWEET

· Listen for God to speak to you

He will encourage you with what to eat or not, tell you how to help your body, exhort you to be kind to yourself, whisper how much He loves you, never condemn you! CLICK TO TWEET

· Choose well

Start with one thing, I like to start one thing and stop one thing. Try it for a whole week. Start walking and stop eating sugar as an example. Then the following week add another start and stop- as God leads. He will tell you. And tell your body- we are being obedient to what God says, your body will believe you- as you believe God!

· Consider wholeness as a goal

Your whole self, spirit, soul and body want to be in unity. The Holy Spirit has been given to us to bring us into unity with the triune God. God wants you to be whole and healthy, every part of you. Pray for your whole self to be in unity with God.

More Bible reflection, if you want to go further;

How does the blessing in Thessalonians 5:23-24 invite you to feel today, what one word is God highlighting as He tells you how much He loves you?

What choices might God be calling you to consider as you ponder Romans 12:1-2?

What area of your life can you be confident and agree with agree with God to complete, as you read 1 Phillipians 1:6.
